At Basil and Bay, we’re committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Here’s what we’re doing – and how you can help us improve:
Accessibility Efforts
- Responsive Design
– Our site is built with a mobile- and tablet-friendly WordPress theme (Feast), ensuring content adjusts well to different screen sizes. - Alt Text for Images
– We add descriptive alt text to all photos to help visitors using screen readers understand our visual content. - Keyboard Navigation
– We strive to ensure you can navigate menus, links, and forms using only a keyboard (no mouse needed). - Readable Typography & Contrast
– We choose fonts, color combinations, and spacing that maintain good contrast and readability. - Structured Content
– We use clear headings, lists, and descriptive link text to enhance navigation for screen readers and improve overall user experience.
Known Issues
Though we aim for full accessibility, some areas are a work in progress:
- Some embedded content (like third‑party widgets or video embeds) may not always be fully accessible.
- PDFs or downloadable files (like recipe ebooks) might not meet full accessibility standards yet.
If you notice an issue, please let us know — we’re happy to fix it!
