I have a lovely fresh, vibrant immunity shot recipe for you guys. PERFECT for when you are in need of a vitamin pick me up. Or if you just fancy a fresh fruity drink in the garden with your feet up…
This has got to be one of my favourite flavour combinations. Fresh oranges, tangy tropical pineapple, a hint of spicy ginger, a sneaky bit of turmeric and a glug of apple cider vinegar for some Gut loving goodness. Finished with a pinch of baobab powder. All the ingredients are blended to make these vibrant, immune boosting Tropical Turmeric & Ginger Shots, and the best part? No juicer needed!
I love to use seasonal produce where possible as the flavours are just so much better when in season. I have tried this with blood oranges. Instead of normal oranges, and it gives the juice a lovely deep red hue.
Why you’ll love this recipe for Tropical Turmeric & Ginger Shots:
Minimal Clean up: all you need is a blender and a nut milk bag if you are wanting a smoother juice.
Great for meal prep: this recipe makes enough for cira 1L of juice, plenty for daily wellness shots.
Ingredients you will need:
Oranges & a Lemon: a vitamin C packed duo!
Pineapple: adds a great tropical flavour and is a nutrient powerhouse See here for more info on the benefits of this fruit
Turmeric: a great anti inflammatory.
Ginger: to add a little ‘fire’ to the juice.
Black Pepper: this is added to enhance the absorption of the curcumin in the Turmeric – see the FAQs for more information.
Baobab powder: it’s considered a superfood; rich in an array of different vitamins and minerals. Such as vitamin C and iron, as well as calcium, potassium and vitamin A.
Decant the mixture into a glass jug and store in the fridge
* If you don’t have a nut milk bag a fine knit nylon produce bag works really well too. If you are UK based, both Sainsbury’s and Tesco sell these.
Recipe Tips & Tricks
If you don’t have a nut milk bag a fine knit nylon produce bag also works! if you are in the UK and don’t have a nut milk bag – the nylon produce bags tescos & sainsburys have (in the vegetable aisle) work great!
I used to get put off by juicing as it seemed so much effort, and clean up afterwards. But some juicers you can buy nowadays you don’t even have to peel the fruit! I’d recommend doing some research into juicers if you want to get one. In my opinion The juice Kings are Joe Cross – His films are amazing. Thats what got me interested in juicing. After seeing how powerful healers fruits and veggies can be. and of course Jason Vale.
Juicing takes a little longer than just blitzing up a smoothie but it’s so so worth it. Fresh homemade juices beat shop bought every. damn. time.
Storage tips:
Mixture will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge.
Alternatively you can freeze the juice into individual portions in ice cube trays and remove one the night before to defrost in the fridge over night, to be ready for you in the morning!
